RecycleSmart is Recognized as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for 2022.

RecycleSmart has been named to the 2022 Canada’s Greenest Employers ranking that were announced today by Mediacorp Canada Inc., the organizers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers project.
“RecycleSmart is honoured to be recognized as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers,” said Rob Duthie, Chief Executive Officer of RecycleSmart “We are committed to taking meaningful action to ensure our business practices have the smallest impact on the environment while giving our clients the tools they need to reduce their impact through maximizing waste diversion”.
Now in its 15th year, Canada’s Greenest Employers is an editorial competition organized by the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project in partnership with The Globe and Mail. The editors evaluate and select the recipients based on four sets of criteria: unique environmental initiatives and programs developed; success in reducing their environmental footprint; employee involvement in programs and whether they contribute any unique skills; and whether their initiatives have become linked to the employer’s public identity and whether they attract new people to the organization.
Here are some of the reasons why RecycleSmart was selected as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers (2022):
- RecycleSmart’s informal green team ensures that the company walks its own talk through maintenance of a zero-waste office strategy that goes beyond local recycling regulations, including the capture of e-waste, batteries, soft plastics, styrofoam, and working directly with the TerraCycle program to capture everything from chip bags to pens and paperclips
- RecycleSmart has also partnered with Green Circle to ensure the capture and proper disposal of the impressive amounts of waste related to the pandemic and PPE, such as masks and latex disposable gloves
- RecycleSmart also thoroughly monitors its ongoing waste generation and recycling rates and publishes a monthly waste diversion report for the head office

This year’s Greenest Employer honor follows two other “employer awards” with RecycleSmart recently being recognized as one of BC’s Top Employers and a Top Small and Medium Business Employer in Canada.
